When I saw the $48 million projection for Fast & Furious’ opening weekend I laughed and said $30 if they’re lucky. Now I have always followed this part of the industry for a good 6 or 7 years now so I have somewhat of a knack for it.

So, I was a tad surprised when it opened to $72.5 MILLION! What the fuck is wrong with the 12-25 age group in this country? I mean I guess you just have to take out a definite article or two and you get the biggest April opening of all-time.

So this Christmas, get ready for Lord of Rings: Fellowship of Ring and its $181.3 million opening.
