Today brings the release of one of my most anticipated albums, and really any piece of entertainment, of the year. Fun is the new band from The Format’s Nate Ruess, along with Jack Antonoff of Steel Train and Andrew Dost of Anathallo. What that combination brings is a lot like The Format, with a little bit of Steel Train, all thrown into a world with a lot more musical elements that really expand on those sounds.
Their new album, Aim and Ignite, will be perfect for anyone who liked any of The Format albums and for anyone who likes pop music, alternative rock, and just straight up very up beat, happy music. Ruess can turn a phrase with the best of them, and musically I feel this album is close to the genius of Dog Problems.
I highly recommend you go out and pick this up!
