My Life In Technicolor

My NL All-Star Ballot

Yesterday, MLB announced the rosters for the 2009 All-Star game. On the whole, the selections are pretty accurate, especially the NL starters. Find the complete list here.

I followed all the rules: 33 players, at least 1 from every club (a dumb fucking rule.) Based my picks probably on 60% of this year and 40% on career data. Biggest metric I’m basing it on is WAR (Wins Above Replacement) which is a comprehensive stat that encompasses batting, fielding, and positional features. An All-Star should be a player who is at least 4-5 wins above replacement (Not really applicable to relievers).
