Grand Slam, Thank You Ma’am

Well Chuck wasn’t the only thing that blew me away tonight. Somehow, the Phillies pulled another comeback out of their ass.

Now I have a superstition where if the Phils are getting hit hard while I’m watching/listening etc. I have to turn it off. Recently, when I do this, they battle back and just rock the shit. Well tonight was no exception. While I listened/watched the Nationals scored 10 of their 11 runs, the Phillies scored 0. While I wasn’t watching, Nationals scored once and the Phillies scored 13 times. And not without some fireworks as they hit not one, but TWO grand slams.

This can’t go on forever pulling off these heroics, and the pitching staff needs to get their shit together quickly.

Also, Raul Ibanez is getting off to a frighteningly good start. I thought he would be a solid replacement for Burrell, though I didn’t like the left-handedness or the $31 million contract, but if he plays 80% of this the rest of the year while being a plus defender, then this might actually be a steal.
