Maybe I Was Wrong?
“Meanwhile, SI’s Tom Verducci weighs in.  He talked to a scout who spoke of an organizational “tug of war” in Philly, with Pat Gillick and Charlie Manuel pushing the win-now move for Doc while Ruben Amaro Jr. and other player development guys are reluctant to move top prospects.” I must say, Tip-O-Hat to Ruben Amaro

leitch: katieschenk: shaneblog: Never Goona Give Your Teen Spirit Up In “totally kick-ass music videos that didn’t exist until now” news, a fan made music video tribute to Nirvana and Rick Astley has been formed. And man, it’s pretty dang amazing to listen to. On how the video was made, YouTuber thriftshopxl says: DJ Morgoth is an excellent mashup creator and DJ based in Germany. He runs...

My brother sent me a link to a Film Drunk article about “Forgotten Classics”. I just discovered Film Drunk, its a pretty good website for movie nerds. Anyway, the above clip is a scene from “Deathbed: The Bed That Eats”. All that needs to be known can be found by listening to the clip below, by the genius of Patton Oswalt.

MY AL ALL-STAR BALLOT
Yes, yes I know I said tomorrow, you know I met next week. These baseball articles take forever and only 2 people read them lol. Remember WAR = Wins Above Replacement; a typical All-Star is worth at least 4-5 Wins, Number stated is 2 year avg. Some adjustments made for missed playing time. Anyway here is my AL Ballot, same reasonings and standards from the NL one. Starters C - Joe Mauer -...

Welcome Sweden!
I saw I had my first international visit this week, and its from the beautiful country of Sweden! In honor of this, I want to highlight a great Swedish actor, Stellan Skarsgård. Here is one of the best scenes from Good Will Hunting, where Stellen and Robin Williams go at it.

My NL All-Star Ballot
Yesterday, MLB announced the rosters for the 2009 All-Star game. On the whole, the selections are pretty accurate, especially the NL starters. Find the complete list here. I followed all the rules: 33 players, at least 1 from every club (a dumb fucking rule.) Based my picks probably on 60% of this year and 40% on career data. Biggest metric I’m basing it on is WAR (Wins Above Replacement)...

Bigger News
Okay so I teased about Big News, and though the .com is important, its actually relatively small news, in comparison. Within the next month or so there will be some big changes and new features on the site. Bear with me in that time as I try to make this a legitimately decent site. Anyway, Happy Independence Day! I hope it is in full technicolor (or at least red, white, and blue)
